Activist Diana Vicezar on Founding a Nonprofit and the UN Sustainability Goals

Episode Summary

On today’s episode, Diana Vicezar joins us to talk about how and why she started her nonprofit Mymba Rayhu, focused on stray animals and recycling, and why the UN Sustainable Development Goals are so crucial.

Episode Notes

Diana created Mymba Rayhu in September 2017 at the age of 16, after discovering that approximately 150,000 dogs were abandoned in Paraguay and that the amount of garbage generated in her hometown, Asunción, was an amount equivalent to 1,000 tons of waste per day. After 2 years, Mymba Rayhu has become an international initiative, with chapters around the world and more than 1000 people impacted through activities (construction of shelters for stray dogs, awareness campaigns and the educational activities called #MymbaKids), press and media.
